Pavel Gossip Line

  • Due to labour problems between the NHL owners and the NHLPA, the NHL season has been temporarily suspended.
  • Pavel has moved his residence from the downtown apartment he occupied last season, purchasing a $2 million mansion just five minutes from the University of British Columbia, a popular place with him for training. The house was featured with Pavel on the local television station BCTV recently. The secluded house is about 6,000 square feet an features a small outdoor pool, hot tub and even a waterfall.

    Now that Pavel owns his own house, he has aquired a couple of German Shepherds. he was no allowed to keep pets in his previous apartment.

    We assume the dogs are meant for security as well as for companionship since Pavel is single and lives alone.

  • Since he was six years old, Pavel's training has been supervised by his father Vladimir Bure, a former Olympic swimmer. When the Canucks signed Pavel to his new contract, they also signed the father as his 'fitness and marketing consultant".
  • Pavel arrived at the pre-season training camp at 194 pounds. During the camp Pavel said, "I'm down to 187 pounds and I'll be down to 182 by the end of the season. That's the way it goes, weight has never been a problem with me."

Pavel plays in Germany

On his way to Russia to play for the Russian Dream Team, Pavel stopped in Berlin to play for Landshut against Berlin in a German League game.

The Herman team took care of Pavel's insurance, and Pavel wanted to get away from home rather than climb the walls every day.

In the game, Pavel delighted a standing-room-only crowd of 6,000 plus by scoring three goals.
