  • Pavel's great grandparents on his father's side came from a town name Furna, in Switzerland. His great-grandfather (also named Pavel) was a renowed watchmaker who produced a line of pocket and hand watches at the end of the last and beginning of this century.

    The Pavel Bure pocket watch, which was made about 1890, is made of 14 Karat gold, weighing about 13 grams and wound up via a key on the back. There is also a man's and a women's hand watch.

  • Pavel's younger brother Valeri celebrated his birthday at pavel's home on June 13. A small gathering of about two dozen close friends attended the party, including PBFC president, Nick. The birthday party finished about 3.00 am.

  • While Pavel has no steady girlfriend at present, Valeri is frequently seen around town with his steady, Candace Cameron. Candace stars in the unrenewed ABC sitcom 'Full House' and also appeared in the 1994 filmed-in-Vancouver movie 'Kids in the Woods'.

  • In response to Don Cherry's outrageous comments about pavel Bure on national TV, Pavel was quotes as saying, "When yougo to the circus and see the clown on the stage, you don't react seriously. I think he's a clown on television".

  • The June 1995 issue of 'Beckett Hockey Monthly' features a painting of Pavel on the inside cover. It also lists Pavel as #1 player that hockey card collectors clamour over.
