Pavel gossip line
Summarized from PBFC newsletter

  • On the 8th December, Pavel left for a business trip to Ottawa and then to New York, to visit his buddy Sergei Zubov of the New York Rangers. From there Pavel flew home to Moscow and to explore the possibility of playing in the Izvestia tournament between a number of countries. But, discussions over his salary and insurance broke down and Pavel did not play, however he did stay in Moscow for the New Year festivities.

  • Before even considering suiting up for action in a European league, Pavel would first need to be insured against a career-ending injury. In Canada, the cost of insuring a hockey player is approximately $14,000 a year oer $1 million coverage. Based on these figures a team would need approximately $420,000 Canadian to insure Bure's contract which is roughly $30 million Canadian.

  • Did you know that Pavel was on the cover of the season premiere edition of Hockey Atlas?

  • How about that December issue of the European edition of 'Vogue' magazine with Pavel on the cover!
