Pavel plays in celebrity game

Pavel played in the 'Celebrity Hockey Spectacular" on August 27th at the Great Western Forum in Los Angeles, wearing jersey number 6. The game included many Hollywood types, plus NHL players,

One of our club members, Mike Brewster of California, attended the game, and sent the following report:Pavel did pretty good. He didn't play all that much, but you could tell he was having fun. He played on the same line as his brother and both of them were awarded a penalty shot at the same time. Pavel took Valeri's pass and scored one of his two goals of the game past goaltender Martin Brodeur.

Everyone was having fun and there were many opportunities and firsts. On one occasion, with the help of the Hanson Brothers (from the movie 'Slapshot'), goaltender Manon Theaume took the puck and scored!

After the game a party was held next to the forum. All tickets to the party and the game (sold at $95 each with proceeds to charity) were sold out. That's when you could meet your favourites, and Pavel was real cool to me. He liked my personalized license plate he signed and actually came up to me when I was sitting down and told me he liked my Pavel Bure Canucks jersey. It was a real fun night."
